Trade School Training in Phoenix, Arizona

The Refrigeration School offers trade school training in Phoenix, Arizona in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration (HVAC/R), electrical and welding. These industries need a skilled workforce and are not going away. Most of our hands-on programs take less than a year to complete to get you out in the field faster.

Electro-Mechanical Technologies

9 Month Program


Climate control and electricity are everywhere, and you could prepare for a career as an Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration technician and Maintenance Electrician all in the same 9 month training program! The EMT program at RSI also includes an overview of the sciences behind solar-powered systems. This kind of cross training could mean more job stability with faster upward mobility.

15 Month Program


Mechanical Maintenance Engineering has a wide range of potential employment options, including HVAC/R as well as institutional maintenance engineering, industrial refrigeration service and much more. Welding Specialist

7 Month Program


The Welding Specialist program prepares a graduate for entry level positions in structural, pipe and pipeline, and thin alloy welding. Key welding processes include SMAW (stick), GMAW/FCAW (MIG/Fluxcore), and GTAW (TIG) welding procedures. Students learn welding safety, torch cutting processes, proper arc welding equipment setup, important welding control techniques, fundamental welding processes, and basic welding metallurgy. This intense program is primarily lab based and focuses on developing critical welding skills.

Financial Aid and Scholarships available to those who qualify. Candidates need to refer to the scholarship information page to determine topic of essay (where applicable) and must meet all regular admissions requirements and be scheduled to start training prior to applying for a scholarship. If a student changes his/her re-enter date, the scholarship award may be forfeited. Scholarships are not transferable and most scholarships cannot be used in conjunction with any other scholarship RSI offers. In most cases, only one award will be given per student. If a student is eligible for multiple scholarships, the scholarship that is most beneficial to the student will be awarded. Scholarships will be distributed incrementally over the entire duration of the program. Scholarship eligibility requires continuous enrollment. Failure to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress may result in the probation and possible loss of scholarship. Termination from training may also result in the loss of a scholarship, which may increase your tuition obligation to RSI. Tuition charges will be based on the amount reflected on your Enrollment Agreement. See the reverse side of your Enrollment Agreement or the School Catalog for the school’s refund policy.
