The Richard (Dunk) Matthews II Scholarship awards $1,600 total, distributed as two $800 scholarships, to high school seniors or trade‑school students pursuing careers in the trades, particularly welding. Applicants are invited to submit a 400–600‑word essay describing who they are, which trade they plan to pursue or are currently studying, their plan to master the trade, and how they intend to give back to their community. Launched in memory of Richard “Dunk” Matthews II, a devoted, master welder who passed away in 2021, the scholarship honors his legacy by supporting ambitious students following his vocational path. The application deadline is November 15, 2025, and winners are announced by December 15, 2025
