What is MIG Welding?

Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding is an arc welding technique in which a continuous solid wire electrode is fed into the weld pool and melted together to form a joint. A constant-voltage power supply creates an electric arc fusing both metals. MIG welding is used for heavy-duty fabrication.

Don’t worry if you’re new to welding. MIG welding is one of the most accessible types for beginners to learn. The process is fast and produces consistent welds because the feed wire runs through the machine at a manageable speed. With MIG welding, you can learn quickly, work at a high speed, and produce cleaner welds, giving you the confidence to excel in your training.
